- queue
- A place in RAM to deposit messages when sending from one process to another process in a multitasking environment. A waiting place for data (mailbox.)
- quiet zone
- Area immediately preceding the start character and following the stop character that contains no markings and is free of any extraneous marks. It is quiet in terms of the scanning signal produced.
